Josephine's Apple Cake

December


1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. apple pie spice
1 t, baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
2 eggs
1 c. oil
2 t. vanilla
2 1.2 c. all-purpose flour
4 c. apples, peeled and pie sliced

Grease and flour a 13" x 9" baking dish. Sift together dry ingredients. Stir in apples and nuts to coat.
Beat eggs, oil and vanilla together. Pour into dry ingredients and stir only to moisten, using a wooden spoon.
Bake 50 minutes in a preheated 350* oven.

This is so good it needs nothing on the top.

The reason congressmen try so hard to get re-elected is that would hate to have to make a living under the laws they have passed..Unknown

About fresh produce:

It's always best to buy fresh produce when it's in season. The quality is better and the prices are lower, but don't overbuy.
Over ripe produce can be used for cooking, baking and blender drinks. allow fruit to ripen at room temperature so it will be sweet and juicy.
Don't wash produce until ready to use it. Don't store potatoes, onions, turnips, rutabagas and eggplants in the fridge.
