Split Pea Soup

December


1 1/2 c. dry split peas
10 c. water
3 ham hocks or 2 c. leftover cubed ham
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 onion, chopped
3 celery stalks, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
salt / pepper

In a dutch oven, bring split peas to a  boil in water. Add ham hocks and simmer 3 hours. Remove meat and dice. If you are using left over cooked ham, add now. Add remaining ingredients to peas and simmer 1 hour.
