Thumb Prints

December 26, 1986

1/3 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. oleo
1 egg, separated
1/2 t. vanilla
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 t. salt
3/4 c. walnuts, chopped
chocolate candy chunks, kisses, mini candy bars etc

Cream together sugar, oleo, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. Roll into 1" balls. Dip into slightly beaten egg white, then roll in walnuts.Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 5 minutes at 375*.
Remove from oven and make a thumb imprint on each cookie. Bake 8 minutes. Fill impressions with candy.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen

Amazing how the little ones will be very dainty picking these up.

If you don't own an egg separator, crack the eggs gently in the middle over a bowl. Pour the egg back and forth between the halves to separate the parts. The egg white will slide out easily.

Accomplishment is the full blown rose of effort...Merry Browne
